Yes anyone can join the academy. We have supplemental programs for boys and girls from under 10 through to more senior and older players. In 2015 we will be incorporating younger aged programs too.
How do I sign up for the Academy?
We have found it best that prospective members come down and view our training regimes and join in for a week or two. That way they can experience the academy methodology first hand.
Where are your training sessions held?
Our main training facilities are located at Coomera Anglican College where we have established in partnership with the College the Coomera Anglican College Football Academy. However we do make provision to train elsewhere at other grounds on the northern Gold Coast area. We also may train indoors when weather circumstances force field closure.
If I play for another club can I still train with the Academy?
Absolutely. We have many members who 'supplement' their current training regimes by training with the Academy.
Do I need to wear the Academy uniform?
Initially no. But we have found that over time players like the sense of belonging that accompanies training with the Academy. And as every professional club we have ever dealt with follows this method - we do too. We feel that life skills are an important part of development, and the organisation and preparing of wearing of a training uniform is just one such skill they can easily master.
Is the Academy an Elite Footballing School?
In the sense that 'Elite' means we only admit those players that have achieved that standard of play - absolutely not. We cater to player development of ALL players. Players learn at different rates of exposure to the techniques offered by the Academy and therefore there will be many differing levels. We are cognisent of that difference in learning aquisition and have great experience in dealing with this and the 'learning plateaus' that can abound the learning of any skill.
How often do you train?
The Academy trains Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and evenings right through the year till Christmas and New Year where we have a very short break to cover the holiday period. Our sessions are made up of our footballing programs. They involve Skill Acquisition; Fitness, Fast Feet, Strength and Conditioning and Yoga Fusion plus others facets of learning and improving player development.
Do I have to pay if I don't turn up to the training session?
Like any other organisation staff are arranged to take each training session. This means that if you have arranged to be present and cannot then payment will still have to be made. Efforts will be made however in genuine cases to include a back-up session where possible.
